The Long Term Vision

Second Skin Naturals’ broader vision is much more expansive than just selling safe, effective and highly desired body care products. Starting with Hawaii’s fallow unused and leftover land from the pineapple, papaya and sugarcane industries, Second Skin will help the State and local farmers to diversify the agriculture and the local economy. We also envision a process of scouring the globe for rare indigenous knowledge about medicinal plants and their uses, propagation, and processing methods to save for future generations. Through this program we will improve economic benefit to indigenous cultures through the creation of a worldwide cooperative using fair trade standards and micro lending opportunities. Second Skin will benefit from these personal relationships by understanding and utilizing this knowledge to offer the most unique, innovative, and all natural products in the world.

Second Skin will begin implementing our vision in Hawaii to create farmer training courses - “Money DOES Grow on Trees” - to educate these farmers on supplementing their income and diversifying their crops by implementing sustainable organic agriculture practices and growing specific trees, plants and herbs for extracts used in our product lines. Through this process we will be able to rebuild land that has been decimated by decades of misuse from toxic and outdated farm industries to create topsoil, conserve water, and eliminate harmful chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides from our environment. We utilize our Moloa’a, Kaua’i farm plots for seed propagation / nursery, demonstration gardens, training courses and eventually tours for public and private school children, Hawaii’s tourist industry, and other interested parties in implementing our educational techniques and goals. This type of demonstration plot can be re-created anywhere in the world that there is suitable climate, open land and a farmer willing to learn and diversify the local economy.

From a Second Skin product perspective, we will create jobs and a new economy in struggling and under-privileged areas worldwide where other opportunities to succeed financially through self-employment may not exist. Our global marketing plan will allow any self-motivated person to purchase product at wholesale/distribution prices, and resell at wholesale/retail for profit. We will educate an otherwise uneducated populous on how to profit from a sustainable business model through investment, cost of goods, and return on investment.

Second Skin’s ultimate goal is to contribute portions of its profits to purchase mosquito netting and donate Hawaiian Jungle Shield sprays to mosquito borne, disease ridden countries (malaria, dengue, etc.) and their people, with a primary focus on helping pregnant mothers and their children. We will also be active contributors for emergency relief to environmentally devastated countries after natural disasters occur to assist with the relief efforts. A portion of 2SN’s profits from the sale of Equine Shield will be donated to efforts to rescue Wild Mustangs in the Western US.

Second Skin Naturals was recently approved for a USDA Loan to help grow its business, and qualified for this loan because of its status as a sustainable agriculture business in rural Hawaii.

We are also happy to announce that we also recently received a grant from the Garden Island Resource Conservation and Development Inc. (GIRCD), Kauai Agriculture Development Program (KADP). The vision of GIRCD and KADP program is: Mâlama ‘Âina o Kaua’i - The community working together towards a harmonious relationship with the environment. Its Mission is to carry out a plan for the orderly conservation, development and prudent use of natural and human resources to improve economic, social and environmental opportunities for the people of Kaua’i County, Kauai, Hawaii.
